Frequently Asked Questions

Can only GFAiR members send an Expression of Interest?

Everyone is welcome to apply (organizations as well as individuals) but we also encourage everyone to become a GFAiR member.

What is the deadline for submitting proposals?

Proposals must be submitted on or before September 15, 2024. Proposals received after the deadline will not be considered.

How should proposals be submitted?

Proposals must be submitted via email to gfair.secretariat@gfair.network.

What should the proposal include to be eligible?

The proposal must strictly comply with the procedures outlined in the Terms of Reference and include all sections detailed in Expression of Interest. It must also be signed by a legal representative of the applicant organization.

What inclusivity criteria must the proposals meet?

Proposals must be inclusive, particularly focusing on women and youth by incorporating gender-sensitive, responsive, or transformative approaches and prioritizing youth involvement.

What happens if a proposal meets the selection criteria?

Organizations that meet the selection criteria will be invited to participate in a webinar to discuss the potential for developing a Collaborative Agreement (CA).

What are Collective Actions (CAs) in the context of GFAiR?

Collective Actions (CAs) are multi-stakeholder programs initiated by three or more partners at various levels (local, national, regional, or international) focusing on Small Scale Producers (SSPs), women, and youth. These actions aim to address shared development goals and are supported by the GFAiR Secretariat.

What support does GFAiR provide for CAs?

GFAiR acts as a facilitator and platform for collaboration rather than a funding organization. However, it offers limited seed funding, business development support, capacity strengthening, and assistance with fundraising efforts.

How long can a CA be supported by GFAiR?

A CA can be supported for a maximum of two years, starting with an initial contract of up to 11 months. The work is expected to begin as soon as the selection process is completed, and the contract is signed.
